A Note About Accreditation

Accreditation or acceptance by any the above organizations ensures the student that Almeda degrees are issued in accordance with stated policies and are issued based on a measurable standard of review. Accreditation by any of these organizations does not guarantee acceptance of your degree. If you are unsure about whether your employer or perspective employer will accept your degree, we encourage you to contact them before proceeding any further with us.

The same can be said for transferring your Almeda degree to another college or university. Few colleges or universities recognize credits earned at other institutions. This goes for traditional colleges, such as Harvard or Yale, as well as non-traditional colleges like Almeda. Therefore, if you wish to use your Almeda degree as the basis for further education or transfer your Almeda credits to another educational institution, we encourage you to contact that institution before pursuing your degree at Almeda to see what their policy is on this matter.

There are several types of accreditation: institutional, specialized, and private. Institutional accreditors, such as those referred to as "regional" accreditors, examine the college or university as a whole educational institution. Specialized accreditors evaluate specific educational programs. Professional accreditors, such as those for medicine, law, architecture and engineering, fall into this category. Private accreditors develop their own standards of acceptance and accreditation by any of these organizations ensures the public that the accredited institution meets the standards set forth by the accreditor.

None of the accrediting agencies that recognize Almeda University are recognized by the U.S. Department of Education as one of the seven official regional accrediting agencies. This non-recognition may have some implications to include, but not limited to: 1. Almeda University is unable to participate in the Federal Student Loan/Financial Aid program. 2. Almeda University is not authorized to accept the GI Bill. 3. Almeda University is unable to guarantee acceptance of its degree programs in other postsecondary institutions.  4. Public sector employers will not recognize a degree accredited by a private accreditor. 5. Private sector employers have no obligation to accept degrees from Almeda University.

We recommend that all prospective applicants check with their potential employer to determine their policies on acceptance of degrees from private postsecondary institutions with private accreditation.

Furthermore, we recommend that all prospective applicants review local and state laws regarding the use of non-regionally accredited degrees in their jurisdiction.

The Almeda degree is a valuable resource for many individuals. However, not all people can benefit from this type of degree. This is why Almeda offers a liberal refund policy as your satisfaction is guaranteed.

If you would like to discuss this matter further with us, we would be glad to assist. Please use the contact-us links on this website to send us your comments. We respond to all correspondence.
