1. What is the difference between Ph.D and Th.D.?
Both the Th.D. and the Ph.D. programs offer very similar courses of study for specialization in whichever field one chooses. While very similar, there may be some minor differences in the dissertation requirements of each. Most specifically, however, for Almeda the differences are negligible. Some traditional universities may offer different sources of funding for those that seek the Th.D. degree rather than the Ph.D. degree. These funding sources, often sponsored by churches and other religious organizations, may dictate requirements of the degree in order to continue providing financial support. Almeda does not accept donations from these organizations and therefore does not have to distinguish the Th.D. from the Ph.D.
2. Do I need to have a bachelor or master degree before apply for my Ph.D/Th.D?
Almeda requires one to possess a bachelor level degree before being considered for any doctorate degree. A master degree, however, is not a required prerequisite.
3.
Why do you only have doctorate programs for Religion and Theology?
The Religion and Theology degrees are awarded through the Almeda School of Theology. At this time, no other department at Almeda has developed any doctorate level programs. If this changes, it will immediately be announced on our website and in our newsletters.
To learn more about the doctorate program or to apply, please send letter of interest to phd@almedauniversity.org
